Lucky me, I work with Starla!
Yes, her name fits her. In fact, I filed the first documents I received from her under "Starla's Constellation." This was our first joint project, and her first book.

Books are Big Deals, and so much more work than you imagine they will be! The rather private practice of writing turns slowly, like the the shadow of a sun dial, toward the public world of "book." Both writer and editor lean back from the manuscript in order to shift successfully from private to public. Endless discussions on punctuation and grammar ensue!
Midst this engaging process, I was absorbing some of Starla's incredibly optimistic energy. I guess one could call it the "freebie" of publishing. It was impossible not to be inspired by her take on life, as I worked on formatting and editing.
"WIde Awake. Every Day." offers 365 short readings that will turn awareness into a loyal and creative friend. The gentle, do-able action steps which end each reading are entitled "bring it to life." You might read this a day at a time. You might just open at any page and consult it like your personal I Ching. Either way, you'll find Starla on every page, ready to support and inspire you.
Here's a sample, written about her meditation practice.
"Recently, while sitting peacefully in that heart space, the quiet was broken by the sound of intense chewing and swallowing, followed by a wet sneeze: my cat on the windowsill, wholeheartedly snacking on a plant. Eyes still closed, I felt my other cat’s soft paws kneading my calf, interspersed with painful pricks as her claws dug in. Then the deep, rumbling purring began, followed by her burrowing under the blanket draped over my legs.
Yes, I could banish the cats during meditation, but they remind me of the purpose of meditation — to provide a strong undercurrent of peace, compassion, and gratitude throughout the distractions of life. They remind me to find my center and allow life to go on powerfully around me as I choose where to put my attention and when to allow my energy to get swept along with life’s current."
"WIde Awake. Every Day." is available on Amazon.com. Starla's site: outwriteliving.com will list additional "brick and mortar" locations as they are added, and the time and location of her debut book signing in Philadelphia.
I hope you will take a look into "Starla's world" through both her blog and this wonderful book.
